Dangers Of Alligators

The Cajun people are making a living from hunting and selling different alligator products. However, with the increased popularity of the Louisiana swamps, the Swamp people found a more profitable method to make money: swamp and alligator hunting tours for people interested about those lands.

The Cajun population was practically unknown until some time ago. The only people visiting the Swamp people were the leather companies buyers and the representatives of the great New Orleans restaurants looking for alligator meat. However, the development of the internet and the documentaries about alligator hunting made them known all over the world, and the Cajun people are currently collaborators of televisions all over the world that want to know everything that happens in this area.

The Swamp people had to work hard to keep alligator hunting under control. Although this is their most important source of income, they are perfectly aware that the vicious and unscrupulous hunters could threaten the populations of alligators. While the leather companies are increasing the demand of crocodile leather, the hunters know that they can’t satisfy all the needs.

The Cajun people are also working closely with the authorities to protect the alligators, and some several programs to educate the hunters will appear. Moreover, the Swamp people train the local officers to become patrols in the area. This way, everybody is certain that alligator hunting is a safe process that won’t endanger the alligator species.

The Cajun people are also trying to talk with the tourists about the dangers in the area. Sure, the experienced Swamp people could go alligator hunting whenever they like, but this won’t mean that tourists are allowed to walk around the swamps by themselves. Even if you are an experienced bear hunter, this won’t mean you will do so great when it comes to alligators.

The people of the swamps are also involved in humanitarian actions and each year people with disabilities or children are taken on alligator hunting free. You can also participate to those actions by donating any sum you can. The non-governmental organizations are always present in the area, making it sure that your money will get in the right place.

The Cajun people also organize sport hunts on private proprieties. However, we are only talking about the wealthiest people of this area that have large portions of swamp under their propriety. Even if the alligators can be found on those proprieties, people are not allowed to hunt them randomly. However, the rules are not so strict, but you will also need to prepare more money for an exclusive hunt of this kind. Moreover, the hunters here organize trophy hunts. Those sessions last for three days, and at the end of it, you might be lucky enough to leave the Cajun swamps with a 12 feet gator as prey. Before each hunt, the scouts and the hunters are sent to find the best areas. This way, the tourists are taken in a zone where the gators can be found for sure, so they will only have to be concerned about hunting them.
