Contrary to some beliefs, the crocodiles and the alligators are not the same. Sure, they are a part of the same reptile family, but we are talking about two different species. The Cajun people that had the chance to see other alligators from other sides of the world have different opinions. While the crocodiles in Asia and Africa are bigger, the Swamp people believe that no crocodile is stronger and smarter than the alligator, which makes alligator hunting a hard job. The Cajun alligators have the same aspect as the crocodiles, and they are living in resembling conditions. As a result, it is pretty difficult to differentiate and alligator from a crocodile. The habitat
Both species like the swampy areas such as the Louisiana swamps of the Cajun people. The Swamp people admit that the alligators could live in captivity, but they say the best alligators for alligator hunting are the ones from the wild.
Both species lay eggs on dry land. While the Cajun people protect the eggs, as they are more interested about the mature crocodiles, the Asian populations are trying to find eggs to cook. The alligators prefer the fresh water, while the crocodiles like swamps and salted water more.
Behavior
Another difference between alligators and crocodiles is their behavior and temperament. Both reptiles can become angry, but the crocodiles are more aggressive. The alligators are sometimes running from humans, while the crocodiles attack everyone around them.
Colors
The color of the alligators is darker. The alligators are almost black or grey, while the crocodiles are green or brown. Several uncommon alligators were found, such as completely black, white and orange.
The differences between alligators and crocodiles show us that those are different animals. Usually, they live in different areas of the world, but they fascinate people.
