Bottom line, we are happy about this show, and we know we did our job and people are interested about the life in the swamp,” stated a producer of the show.

The number of tourists increased dramatically since the appearance of the show. Although the local authorities are more than happy about this, the locals are annoyed by the tourists. “They are looking at us with pity, and some of them are trying to feed us like animals. People have to understand that Cajun is a way of life. It is our choice, and this is how we want to live. We are not asking anybody to come into our swamp, but we would also like the world to leave us alone,” stated a local.
